Waukegan Police and Bad Public Relations - Danno - 12-04-2010 There was recently a professionally conducted Estate Sale held at the home of a long time Waukeganite on N. Martin Ave. An estate sale like this requires on street parking for the customers. The area of N. Martin Ave where the sale took place has no parking on both sides of the street. The people that conducted the sale got permission from the WPD to allow customers to park on the street for the duration of the sale. Evidently someone in the WPD forgot this because at least 10 cars were ticketed there at approximately 3pm on Friday. The officer who did this should be held responsible. He should have known better and checked. Very unprofessional. All who recieved tickets should be contacted and apologized to. And while you are at it compensate her for the gasoline and time she spent going the police station to try to right the wrong. Someone can apologize to her too. Re: Waukegan Police and Bad Public Relations - fedup - 12-08-2010 Two things before any stones are cast: Were the tickets issued after the time allotted for the sale? Was the vehicle parked on the wrong (illegal) side of the road? Was the vehicle parked on the wrong (illegal) side of the road?Tickets were issued about 1 hour before the advertised end of the sale that day. Both sides of the street are marked "no parking any time". The people who ran the sale got permission from the police department to park on the street during the sale and they explained all that in their advertisement. I will ask my friend for an update tomorrow. The day this happened the police were called by the people running the sale for an explanation and were told someone from the pd would call back. A few of those who were ticketed waited at the house for quite a while for an answer but my friend said she got tired of waiting and left. She drove to the police station and they didn't have an answer for her either. Re: Waukegan Police and Bad Public Relations - SuxlinkSux - 12-21-2010 Danno, let your friend fight their own battle and bitch about it online instead of another driveling post by you. If you feel bad for that person, cough up the parking ticket money as the city could use it. Instead of that, either of you has 3 minutes to speak at the City Council Meeting. Do that. Do that.I see you prefer to defend injustice and that is your choice. What other corrupt acts do you defend? Do you prefer to defend such corruption and injustice anonymously? Oh wait, of course the answer is yes. It would take courage to do otherwise. Re: Waukegan Police and Bad Public Relations - SuxlinkSux - 12-26-2010 Man of La Mancha bit is tired. Show up at city hall to lament about it and pontificate over it there. okay? Re: Waukegan Police and Bad Public Relations - TypesWithFist - 12-26-2010 SuxlinkSux Wrote:Man of La Mancha bit is tired.
