Post - freedomisntfree - 01-28-2009 Post Re: Arrogance,Waukegan and the Internet - coyote - 01-29-2009 Freedomisn'tfree~ The numerous posts and reposts of personal emails has been irritating to say the least. Perhaps I am a mean and horrid person for putting it so bluntly, but well there it is. Now, I am not altogether cold-hearted, if I am catching the drift of what has been posted thus far.. you are trying your damnedest in fixing, and protecting your spouse from any further harm. I can sure understand that and truely sympathize. You state you don't have any expectations or plan of action and let people make of it what they will. Come on! You want the people that hurt your family brought to justice and held accountable for their actions. Hell, that is what I would want. Thing is, if you want something you have to have some kind of plan to achieve it. ie: *Write letter to the editor *encourage those here and elsewhere to write letters as well *Encourage those in district to attend board meeting and ask questions concerning the matter as well as write letter to superintendant and region etc. etc. *Have a petition signing etc. etc.etc. Just don't toss info out to the masses hoping they may eat it up - tends to create more chaos than anything else. Lastly, limit the amount of posts - because as it becomes redundant people will just ignore them. Re: Arrogance,Waukegan and the Internet - NorthsideKaren - 01-29-2009 Hear, Hear!! Re: Arrogance,Waukegan and the Internet - soupnazi55 - 02-03-2009 I am amazed at the fact that people are still pointing fingers of blame regarding the Genessee Theater after 5 years. The colossal blunder, as it has been termed, can be tied to many people, not just Kolber. If anything he and Ray were hung out to dry. If you followed the timeline of the rebuilding, you will have noticed a change in leadership on the Friends Comittee and the downward spiral of this project. Yeah, sure it was overbudget and late, but why change contractors near completion? When a certain "local" contractor took over the project, much more was spent and the good old boys network of friends profitted from the change. The appointment of Rovine was a joke. The city handed him the reins of beautiful theater and what has he done to fill it?....nothing. We are stuck with performers that happen to be near Chicago and Milwaukee. I don't know anything about managing a show house, but I would be signing as many shows as possible to make some money and not be in the red all the time and justify my salary. It still all comes back to City Hall and their shenanigans. If they screw something up, they cover it up. Their decisions on spending money has long been a mystery. Until that regime is changed (for the good) we shall continue to spiral down. I don't know who the answer is, but whoever gets in office should hire a city manager to help start the turnaround because they will need all the help they can get. I just want to see someone make a difference to the whole community and not just their merry band of men. Of course I would like peace in the middle east .........fat chance |
