Re: "FIRST THEY CAME AFTER....." - Dennis_Ista - 05-02-2010 Hold this law agains the Universal Decleration of Human Rights, and then read it again with this in your mind Article 2: Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty. Article 9: No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile. Article 13. (1) Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state. (2) Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country. Article 30. Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein. Re: "FIRST THEY CAME AFTER....." - Dennis_Ista - 05-03-2010 Article 2 seems to state that fact. Re: "FIRST THEY CAME AFTER....." - ClassicalLib17 - 05-03-2010 Article II of the U.S. Constitution creates the executive branch of the U.S. Government. This is a bs U.N. declaration. WE have our own laws here, that have served us very well when our government enforces them. The Arizona law mirrors federal law. I don't know what Dennis is talking about here because his country does not even provide for automatic citizenship for babies born to two illegal aliens, like we currently do in the U.S. And I'll bet my bottom dollar they secure their borders much tighter than we do here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_nationality_law The U.N. is a totally dysfunctional and corrupt organization. Spare me your warm and fuzzy rhetoric, please. Re: "FIRST THEY CAME AFTER....." - Dennis_Ista - 05-04-2010 Oh why do I even bother... Have fun with your witch hunts ClassicalLib. I am amazed you did not sign up to protect the borders! Re: "FIRST THEY CAME AFTER....." - Blackdiamond - 05-04-2010 He can't hear you because he's on his way to the Border  Re: "FIRST THEY CAME AFTER....." - ClassicalLib17 - 05-04-2010 Dennis, you have to first understand American history and culture, otherwise you sound extremely naive in your responses. Most Americans don't hold the U.N. in high regard, and don't like being preached to by liberal Europeans. This is just a fact of American life. Finally, are you trying to avoid acknowledging your country's laws regarding illegal aliens? I posted a link above that says you people are stricter, much stricter than the U.S. Re: "FIRST THEY CAME AFTER....." - WT Reader - 05-04-2010 I am a strong advocate of controlling our border. The USA began to build a three wall fence along the Mexican Border but then went no further. We can spend tens of millions of dollars in Iraq and Afghanistan, yet have no money to continue this fence any further? This makes no sense. The Federal Government in Washington, D. C. appears to lack the will to secure our border. This is the true source of this huge problem we have in our country. Deal is, we must stop all of this illegal immigration into the USA. If this illegal immigration continues into the USA, this country simply cannot absorb and absorb more and more and more persons without significant erosion of our entire society. For those illegal immigrants now here, what do we do? IF we just "round up" such persons and then ship such persons back to South America, with no border control here many of these persons will simply return again. We do not have the resources of prison space and all the costs that incarceration incurs to lock up so many more of these persons. Yet by demanding to see documents of legality to be here at will, this is arbitrary and capricious. It does not address the issue of more and more illegal immigrants crossing our border as well as those illegal immigrants here living "on the sly" and in "the shadows." I do not know the solution to all of this other than to continue that three layer wall along our border to significanty reduce illegal entry here. We then need to have an ID system where everyone who applies for a job here or has a job here shows evidence of their properly being here. This is organized and comprehensive vs abitrarily demanding to "see papers" and would be much more effective in the long run. IF a person cannot demontrate they are here legally, then have a way they can become a U S Citizen through citizenship education. Get such persons into our system so they can help support their presence here AND pay their fair share of taxes. For those who refuse or become bad actors, then off such persons go back to their country of origin. With a wall built, maintained and manged by boots on the ground and by surveillance above with technology, we can begin to get a handle on all of this. D C needs to legislate a comprehensive plan to deal with this massive issue of illegal immigration. This is the message that I send our representatives there, and if more of us did this, we would stand a better chance of making headway on this very serious issue. I really would like to hear how those of you who are likewise very concerned as I am about illegal immigraton here, what are your ideas about COMPREHENSIVELY addressing it? -- WT Reader Re: "FIRST THEY CAME AFTER....." - Danno - 05-04-2010 The key to SOLVING any problem is to address the root cause of the problem. Until that is done anything else is wasted effort and is just postponing a real solution to the problem. A fence is not attacking the root cause of the problem. So what is the root cause of this problem? Our politicians (pick any party) very very rarely have real solutions to problems. Making laws is essentially an admission of a failure to find an effective solution to a problem. Come on, you people are intelligent. Tell me the answer. What is the root cause of the problem of illegal immigration? |
