I didn't know that Perecinct Comitteeman was a public office. What do they do? When/where do they meet? How much do they get paid? Why is a Precinct Committeeman not working with Hyde and his campaign manager? Re: Desperate times for Mayor Hyde - lewiston - 04-02-2009 Aah...it all makes sense now. This explains everything with regards to precinct committeman Peter Couvall's actions..... Oops - some one better tell the County that they are not allowed to use His name in vane Re: Desperate times for Mayor Hyde - fedupinwaukegan - 04-06-2009 I was talking with someone -but thought I heard Libby on WKRS say that during the Waukegan mayor debate one of the candidates said something inappropriate to the other one. Could some one email me what was said if they heard it? I'm just curious. 8-) I've already voted. But tomorrow will be a long day for many folks (on the ballot)! Re: Desperate times for Mayor Hyde - Don Petrone - 04-07-2009 Sabonjian quoted Hyde from a conversation they had in the Democratic (now Hyde's) HQ after the November Election Where Hyde stated 'there are no more good people left in Waukegan. All the good whites, all the good blacks and all the good mexicans have moved'. After that, Libby allwoed the discussion to continue for several minutes, but Hyde never refuted or denied that he made the statement. Yesterday, Libby stated that she thought it was inappropriate and that Sabonjian 'crossed the line' by telling people what Hyde had said. She didn't ask Hyde if it was true or not but did allow him plenty of opportunity to deny it, but he never did. My thought is that just because something may be conrtroversial, doesn't mean it's not true and knowing Hyde as I do, it doesn't surprise me at all that he said something like that. I've heard him say much, much worse about blacks, mexicans, puerto ricans and women. Actually, I heard the last part of this topic, and the reason Libby let the discussion continue, was because Mayor Hyde DID deny it happened. Either way, I think it made Sabonjian look like he was desperate. Just my opinion though! ![]() Re: Desperate times for Mayor Hyde - goodintentions - 04-07-2009 I'm interested in your opinion Penguin! Does Sabonjian stand a chance as the next Mayor of Waukegan? Re: Desperate times for Mayor Hyde - fintan1010 - 04-07-2009 It does not surprise me that Hyde said something and then would lie about it. I have sat in his office where he has told me something, then weeks or months later he says something COMPLETELY different in the press. Sabonjian, does have a chance - but like all elections will depend on turn out. Can this town stand 4 more years of HYDE-ing. My thought is NO! Re: Desperate times for Mayor Hyde - Danno - 04-07-2009 Here is an audio clip of the exchange from the debate which was on WKRS. I love how Hyde says he wants someone for mayor who has "done something". He's probably the most failed and least proactive mayor I've ever seen. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.esnips.com/doc/02c34bb7-39d3-4bdc-8dc9-6c1c14bb698a/NoGoodPeople">http://www.esnips.com/doc/02c34bb7-39d3 ...
