I am quite concerned about the growing power CHINA has over the USA. I have here an article from CNN that says CHINA is now "America's bankers." Deal is, they don't like us telling them what to do.

Also, many of OUR JOBS have been forsaken and now done are done more cheaply by Chinese workers. In the long run, this is bad for our workers here and one of the reasons I believe we have such high unemployment and a struggling economy.

My concern is that IF they so chose, they could "pull the rug from under us" at any time. I do NOT trust the Chinese, as a people they are very gracious and kind. However, their government is very sinister (in my opinon), often brutal in terms of human rights, and very rigid and power-seeking.

I think this is a very dangerous relationship we have with CHINA, and I don't understand how they came to have SO MUCH INFLUENCE over us.

What do others of you think about this?

Drudge report has an interesting recent photo of our president and the president of China... There's a full length photo at the link -but can't copy it. Much has been made of how/if our president should be bowing to foreign leaders. I gather protocol says no.

President Richard Nixon did the same thing to the Emperor of Japan, and I also recall before Chairman Mao.
President Nixon was an expert in foreign affairs, that was his specialty. And he made great advances in turning China
around and establishing a dialogue with them.

Nixon's bowing was controversial then, it seems as though that is what the Oriental protocol calls for when meeting.
It is distressing for us to see, but I think it is the way diplomacy works.

The bigger picture here is not President Obama bowing today but this entire relationship with China. I am worried
that we are becoming too dependent upon them...and what they could do to us economically as they become more
economically powerful.

That was my subtle point -this administration is leading the way, the relationship with China (keeping in mind the turns the U.S.'s relationship recently has made with Israel, Britain, India...).

I too am deeply concerned about our relationship with China as well and read much about this. Just read this morning about some of the discussions that went on at the nuclear summit.

Yeah, go to work kid so I can continue to get my SS check. Sorry, there won't be any left for you young folks. That "bow" is a greeting with respect. The Chinese, and all the other "Nese's" look sneaky to me. I was told that the words "Made in China" is stamped on everything I own. (Gotta find someone to get it off my back.) :o If you believe in the Holy Bible, it explains how this World is going to end, and China nor any other Country have anything to do with it.
