Is this what the nanny state eventually turns their once good citizens into? I'm sure they would like to ban alcohol but that would create a twofold problem-- clear-headed citizens who wake up sober and angry with their government for the intrusions into their lives, and #2 what will be the new tax to replace the alcohol tax? Europe is a joke gone bad. I don't know how any of you people feel about this but I sure as hell don't want to join the ranks of the failing Euro-Socialist States. I sign my name because my beliefs are firm, Harold Beadling http://www.jointogether.org/news/headlin...ng-as.html
The root cause has less to do with alcohol and more to do with the fact that we are taught to honor violence. Alcohol merely facilitates the realization of the tendencies that are already there.

With two sentences I've put more logic into understanding this problem than two whole political parties who may be more interested in their own agendas than true answers or logic.

But you can bet the sheep bought into it big time. I can't wait for American Idol.... Yeah!
Failing euro socialist states???? you must be referring to those countries where the governments are not idiotic enough to get into 2 wars at once without any hope of conclusion. You must be referring to those countries where business is thriving because national healthcare relieves business of the insurance burden. germany, Sweden , Belgium Netherlands Norway all have very high standards of living and education Most of the people there are bilingual. How many illegal immigrants do we ever get from belgium?

Thank you, Gurnee Cynic, I appreciate your critique. Judging by the way you write, I am going to guess that you are a woman; you went to a liberal college; and you are currently teaching our children social justice, instead of the three r's, our constitution, and how to be good, patriotic Americans. I consider myself fortunate that in the early 60's my teachers in elementary school still taught the values that sustained our great nation, both politically and economically. I look forward to your feedback. Harold Beadling
