First of all the coaches name is Ashlaw not Ashcroft. That mediocore basketball team they played in the state final finished ranked in the top 10 in the country. They also had 6 division 1 players. Call coach Ashlaw up im sure you with your wisdom could help this team reach its potential. FOOLS WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ATHLETICS AND COACHING TROLL THESE BOARDS! Its so comical to me I can hardly stand it.
I cant resist.. (John Wooden Newton) in your expert opinion why dont you tell me what the five prinicples to running a motion offense are? Or, where the help line is? Or, what screen the screener means? Or, tell me your teaching methods for teaching kids what "one" pass away is, or "two" passes away is when teaching man to man defense. Where were you When Colberts teams lost in the super sectionals twice to REAL BAD teams. He could have used your help! And I will know if you look the answers up on line......dont be sneaky

i firmly believe this is not the place to talk about high school coaches and high school players. If you have a gerenal problem with school policy, administration, or something of that nature that is fine. Newton if you have concerns call the coach yourself!
But Bruce. This is BASKETBALL. Your school buildings could be falling apart (oh wait - they are already) and these fools wouldn't raise an eyebrow. But basketball is a different story.

I share the beliefs of the statement about the speaking of high school players. I did read the post that was edited by Newton, and I do not believe it is or was out of line. Are the coaches in Waukegan not an extension of the high school education process? Is it taboo to expect excellence in every facet of our children's experience?
I agree with Jazmin's response, as well. Many things are not right with our district. I also know that I have notified people of failures of the infrastucture at Jack Benny. There was an old light pole with its base rusting out that fell into the parking lot at Benny, and there is at least one other in the same condition as the one that fell. It is our obligation to point these things out. I know I have spoken with both the house principal and High School principal about problems that I have seen or heard this year, affecting my children, all of which were addressed immediately.
Regardless of the intention behind words, I certainly stand behind everyone's right to speak them, as the title of this forum suggests.
By the way, I hope these kids go all the way this year! Go Bulldogs!

I'm not sure what the difference is between Newton questioning the decisions of the high school basketball coach and sports fans everywhere questioning the decisions of their favored team's coaches.
Is there a particular reason you believe this isn't the place to discuss such things?

WHy??? because these are high school kids and high school coaches thats why. This is not a group of coaches making a living coaching and recruiting the top players in the country. Whatever start a bash sight!
