I hate graffiti. Glad these two winners were caught. They look a heck of a lot older than 19.

Two Waukegan men were literally caught red handed after being found to have defaced a local cleaners with graffiti.

Noe Trevino, 19, of the 2100 block of Atlantic Avenue and Eugenio Gutierrez, 19, of the 1200 block of North Lewis Avenue are both charged in the Wednesday incident.

According to police, an officer on routine patrol saw Trevino and Gutierrez in front of Del Mar Cleaners, 2308 Washington St., as they were riding their bikes.

After seeing the officer, the men fled the scene, Fitzgerald said. The officer then observed reddish colored graffiti on the front window of the cleaners; later stopped both men and noticed Trevino had what appeared to be red paint on his hands and clothing.

Further investigation in the area of Washington Street between Lewis Avenue and McAree Road revealed other locations that had been damaged by graffiti.

Gutierrez is charged with misdemeanor criminal defacement of property.

Trevino was levied with six felony counts of criminal defacement and five misdemeanor courts of criminal defacement of property.

Those additional charges relate to incidents reported regarding Trevino as far back as June 29, said Waukegan Lt. Edward Fitzgerald.

Trevino was remanded to the Lake County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 bond. His next court date is Aug. 20.

Gutierrez's was released on bond and is expected to appear in court Sept. 3.
