First of all, thanks so much to whoever put this up! We don't need TOWN to gather and have discussions. Big Grin

Second.... what's been going on in Waukegan? I feel so lost now. :?

Wonder if this board will take off. Looks like it could. We will see. It has the nice board tools like bold and italics and colors. All the comforts of home.

What's going on in Waukegan? For me and my wife it was attending the 1973 WTHS class reunion Saturday night. I am technically of the class of 1974 but since our class is full of lazy no counts (of which I guess I am one  ) the class of 73 was kind enough to have the classes from 72 and 74 join theirs. I guess they figured nobody would show up otherwise. Out of all three classes there were maybe 120 people there. It was nice though. It was in a large tent in front the Greentown tavern. It was very rainy but the tent held. It was pretty good though. Not the highlight of my life but it was nice to connect with a few of my old classmates.

At first I thought I was in the wrong place. I went there expecting to see some of my high school classmates and all I found was a bunch of old people! :?
Hahaha!

Sounds like a good time, wths74. Glad to hear it was at Greentown, supporting local establishments is always good.

I wonder if my class will ever get around to having a reunion... I think I'll go, but that me talking now... I wonder how I'll feel in 20 years, lol.
I totally forgot about the Class Reunion - I was thinking about going as well. I hope I can still get the directory they were taking orders on, I'd like to know where everyone is & what they're up to. WTHS74 - did you happen to get one?

This is one time I agree with you BandStudent - I've missed reading everyone's thoughts. And I need to know whats going on in Waukegan. I enjoyed being at ACV - and will continue to go there - but it just isn't this kind of a place.

Come on everyone - do tell whats going on??

The guy running the show was a Gary Eimerman. I am going to post an email he sent us about getting the class photo they took of us there and if we weren't around to pick them up who to contact if we wanted the picture. They took class photos of each of the classes. 72, 74 and 74.

I think it's ok to post this as everyone who went got this email and Gary's email address is on the class website so I really don't think I am breaking any rules. Here it is. By the way if you didn't go and were not in the pictures it it probably ok to ask that photo company for a copy. Just state the date of the reunion and your class. It cost us $15 for the pic as we stayed around to get our copy. You should email Gary about getting a copy of the class directory. It's very small as it only has the people who responded to the class invite.

--------------------------------------------

I have rec’d e-mails from some people who needed to leave before the class photo was ready for purchase, wondering how they could contact the photographer about getting a copy of the picture mailed out. The contact information for them is Tom Killoran Photography 708-361-0025 and the website for them is http://www.tomkilloranphotography.com . I suggest reaching them directly to discuss your specific request. Thanks.

Kindest Regards,

I found my old friends by following the scent of burning weeds. Big Grin
This seems like a nice place. Wonder how many former townie posters will find their way here.

I come to extend a mea culpa for having a bad attitude about the 73 class reunion. I as the guy who was upset about people crashing the reunion. Someone said it on the town board, maybe cpa or danno, don't remember. He said why would I worry about anybody wanting to crash the wths 1973 class reunion? He was right. We barely had enough of our classmates. Why would anyone want to crash a reunion that had nothing but a bunch of old middle aged people. It was pretty good though. Weather wasn't that great but it was a small hop from the tent to the Greentown tavern. Also a small hop to the bathrooms for all of us +50 people  The DJ was playing hits from the early 70s (oh my god) "don't rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby" sigh

It was good though. I noticed the burnouts still hung with the burnouts, the "garage boys" (motorheads) still hung out together. The "princesses" still hung out together. It was nice though. Good food, some good music. It was nice to see some our old friends.
Thanks to everyone involved in this. Don't forget to attend 6th Ward block party on Saturday!
Oh, BandStudent--I loved WaukeganOrg. You know, they probably suggested this new Forum. They took a lot of abuse from a lot of us. Why did the Reunion have to be held on a Sunday? Sure took a lot of parking places for folks going to Church. Smile
