The Dawgs program just keeps growing. Waukegan-area girls age 9-14 who want to play competitive softball next summer can try out for the Waukegan Dawgs travel softball program on Saturday.The Waukegan Lady Dawgs girls travel softball program will hold tryouts August 8th for its 12-under and 14-under squads.
The Dawgs are looking for players with a positive attitude, enthusiasm for the game, willingness to learn more about the sport, ability to work well with others, discipline and commitment.
This is the third year for the program, originating with a 10u & 12u team going to two 12u teams and looking forward to at least one team in 12u & 14u with the possibility of two in each level plus a 10u team.
Tryouts for the 12u will be Aug. 8 from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon. Tryouts for the 14u will be Aug. 8 from 12:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Information for 10u will be available at the field, please come by to register. All tryouts will be at Dugdale Park in Waukegan. Rain date will be Aug 9.

League games won't begin until next spring but teams will be put together with practice beginning in the fall. The Dawgs look forward to being involved in fall tournaments in the area as well as hosting a fall tournament in Waukegan.
