Can anyone tell me how the Wine and Art Stroll Works?

Where are you strolling to or from?
Is it casual strolling..... like walking around, having
some wine and looking at art?
Or is it a group stroll, like with a tour guide?

Are the artists Local? Do you just LOOK at the art
and the exhibits or can you buy?

It sounds like a cool event I just wondered how
it works ( I understand the Wine and the Art part... Fun! )

It's just nice to be prepared with the right necessities
like money, walking shoes or a designated driver.

Thanks in advance for any info you can share.
Last year you could buy a glass by the Jack Benny monument. You then walked what ever way you wanted up & down Genesse. There was artwork inside some of the places as well as artists with their work on the sidewalk. I think artists did offer the works for sale. I assume the artists were local but can't say with 100% certainty. The event last year was ok...but pretty small scale.
I just got this information on this event.
If you were wondering about the Wine and Art Stroll too,
here's the details about it.

The particulars are: you either
pre-register by calling 847-623-6650 or email and that will save you $5 -
The tickets (which includes your WMS Wine Stroll glass) are $10 in
advance (they'll put you on the list just with an email confirmation)
or $15.00 day of event.

You start out at the Jack Benny Park located at the
corner of Clayton St. and Genesee St. from 4:30 pm until 7:30 pm
(catty-corner from the Genesee Theatre) there you will confirm your
registration and pay for the event if not pre-paid - you will be given a map
of the downtown participants , a wine glass and wristlet ? maybe... - then
you go from business to business where they will have at their location a
specific brand of wine (red or white or both) and art work (some of which
will be for sale).
They should have beer. Waukegan is a beer town.
wine & art stroll this evening. $10.00 tickets before event, $15.00 at start.

i know that many of these events are not very large, but if we are ever to progress we need people to attend. this is a great event, please come out and join us.

see ya there.
Yeah, I might even stroll, FOR A BEER Big Grin (I'm on too much medication to have a beer.) I loved it. One night I decided I would drink one ANYHOO, and did I pay for it. I was sick as a dog. (I don't know why we say "sick as a dog") :? Wink
