One of the main figures in the Genesee Theatre screw up, Steve Kolber, has started a Waukegan-centric internet forum. (he is using his real name on the forum as is required of everyone else so I'm not outing anyone) This forum is restrictive and repressed and is doomed to fail just like the theatre project failed under his supreme lameness and arrogance.

I've always thought the major figure in the "screw-up" at the Genesee was the City of Waukegan.
I plan to participate in the CREW forum...my feeling is that it will be a more focused and goal-oriented discussion without the petty insults and slander that took place on ORG and now, here on WT. Don't get me wrong...there are aspects of this type of forum that I enjoy and it is informative to an extent - but the trolls show up and turn it into a mean-spirited gossip fest.
I do not know any of the CREW folks personally, therefore I have a very open mind about their initiative. Good luck to Kolber and friends on this endeavor. I hope they (we) are successful in affecting positive change in Waukegan.
Steve Kolber cost the taxpayers of Waukegan many thousands of dollars. He exchanged any integrity he may have had for a slime laden paycheck from the good old boys. Kolber is bad news... I know.
Additionally, I could never support someone who attempts to stifle of suppress the free speech of others as has been stated on their website. They are actually trying to control the content of expression. Typical Kolber arrogance and self righteousness. Let it rot.

My feeling is that this is a front for the support of Chris Wakefield's run for mayor. Another con job.

Better than not doing anything. I'm with Immigrant Daughter and definitely signing up.
I think I'll stay parked right here for now - I don't want to have to ask permission from some nameless forum administrator before creating a topic (and all the while having to publicly display my full name and hometown). But hey - that's just me.

I agree Kellyann. I could also fill a few pages on Kolber. If he's part of that effort then count me out.

Hmmm. "better than not doing anything". I hope you are not implying that people here or on the old TOWN forum are "not doing anything". We have plenty of people here who are doing things to improve Waukegan. A good example is a fellow poster here by the name of Kellyann who has been doing plenty... and has been doing it long before any self professed savior of Waukegan has decided to bestow his blessings upon us mere peons. Check out the schools thread and see the videos she has voluntarilly put up for our benefit. That stuff doesn't happen all by itself. It takes a lot of time and effort.
