just received the latest mailing from Mayor Hyde. two quick points...
...WHERE exactly is the adorable tea/coffee shop that is pictured?
...did anyone else notice that the endorsement from the News-Sun is from FOUR years ago?
I haven't seen that one yet but I did get the one about the IRS and Mayor Hyde having kept our taxes from being increased.

The thing is that my property taxes have constantly increased and the City of wuakegan and Myaor Hyde have nothing to do and no impact on the taxes I pay to the IRS.

Hyde has also increased the sales tax, parking meter fees/fines and other fees.

Then there are all the failed promises and projects or better termed things that were promised but didn't happen:
New Condos at Washington and Sheridan Rd.
New Condos at the New Sun uilding
New Art Space
Genessee Theatre making money and fueling new restaurants.
New restaurant across from the theatre (we do have a brand new empty build there)
Empty retail space at the new and overpriced parking garage.
Karcher hotel still a shell
Carnegie Library still a shell
No Casino
No Harbor cleanup
No new houses or anything else on the lakefront
The list goes on and on.

For all the time that Hyde has been Mayor and all the projects that he's backed, none have been succesful.
believe me i know the list. my favorite was when the mayor stated that "fountain square is challenging gurnee mills for tax revenue". oh, how i laughed.

i have no computer skills beyond the most basic email and the occasional post on this forum. if someone has received this recent mailer and could post it on this sight i would do cartwheels. people really have to see it. in the picture a young couple is standing in the most adorable shop. someone please help me before i spend endless hours driving around looking for this place.

i'm certain our fine mayor would not misrepresent the kind of shops that this town has to offer. had to wonder why he didn't show a couple at a muffler/tire shop or a payday loan store front.
 I wish I knew how to scan, cut and paste. I'm like you as far as my Computer knowledge goes. I was in my 50's before I even touched one. The first thing I did was pick up the mouse and point it towards the computer. I was in a class of young folks and they laughed at that.
i'm sure this item was sent to many households and it will show up here before long
