“Dr. Batiste is being recognized and honored by the State of Illinois for the outstanding contribution that he is making to public education here in Waukegan. We are proud of his accomplishments and feel very fortunate to have him as our Superintendent,” said District 60 School Board President Mr. Michael Rodriguez.

 "Change Is Something That Was Supposed To Happen But Now We Will Make It Happen"
So your plan of action is....................................................................???????
Give the school board and administration a wake up call?
Seems like they have just been "chillin"...easy sailing 8-)
Defiantly need to think about talking to  Mark Hawn  see if he has any input into how things are going?
Maybe spread the word to the WHOLE community about the school board and administration?
Let all the students and parents know about the "missionary" work that has been going on and all the rewards they are reaping in, minus books and a better education for students?
But hey that's life, it goes on then new people come along an it repeats itself..never ending battle..so mine as well just keep quiet about stuff..let them do what they do, District 60? psssshhhh who cares??

MONEY & SELF INTEREST
OVER
students & education
You've peaked my interest.

Have you followed Mark Hawn'a voting record???
Been to any Board Meetings lately?
What's your opinion of the individual Board members?
How do you propose getting the community involved? (are you sure people even care?)
I haven't followed Mark Hawn( I consider him to be a joke, doesn't he seem to come off as a tough guy?? )at all, I haven't even been to a board meeting in YEARS!!

Just the other day for some reason, I got the urge to come and see what has been going on and happening the past few years with the school district.

From the looks of it, it doesn't seem like to much has changed. Also from hearing things from the students at Waukegan, it still is like it was before..no one really cares.

The board members are board members, I have come to realize that they do not care either, seems to me they are just there to be there..If they were really passionate about the schools and education, they would be out fighting for change, doing whatever they can to make things better..but they don't.

I'm not 100% sure but isn't the district in debt pretty bad? Are they not capable or smart enough to budget money, spending ,cut expenses? I'm extremely confused on that, budgeting is probably one of the simplest things to do..It doesn't take a college education or Doctorates degree to know how to do it? COMMON SENSE!!

Getting the community involved, so many ways to do that..just give out fliers to the students to bring home and show there parents, that there are board meetings, when they are, what the school board is and letting them know they are ALLOWED TO COME TO THEM and can even get up and speak there concerns or questions to the board..Even just letting the parents and the community know about the company cars, the salaries, the expense accounts that this administration has but they still cant seem to find the money for books or anything for the students..I'm sure the parents would be interested in where all the tax money is going that they pay since it doesn't go to there child's education.

But honestly the board has been getting by to easily and so has the administration..people need to start stepping up and do something about it..let them know "We Aren't Gonna Take It Anymore"!! No need to be afraid of them, they are just humans like everyone else.

Do you know the kind of car that the superintendent drives or the other people that have "district paid cars are driving'? just kinda curious on what kinda cars they are and if they are cars that they shouldn't even really need since they make enough money to buy there own!!
